Mark Schwenk
Blacksmith, Photographer, Mixed Media Sculptor
Mark Schwenk,
one of the two founders of Frog Valley Artisans, studied photography
at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA. After moving to Berkeley Springs
in 1996 he opened Frog Valley Wood and Metal. Today Mark is known throughout
the East Coast for his whimisical nail sculptures, forged metal sculpture
and fine architectural iron work. Mark is also President of the Board
of Directors for the Berkeley Springs Studio Tour and was recognized
by Gov. Jos. Manchin and Rep. Capito for his contribution to economic
development in the arts in West Virginia.

Veronica Wilson
Stained & Fused Glass Artisan and Potter
Veronica
Wilson began throwing pottery while studying at the Art Institure of
Pittsburgh, PA. After moving to Berkeley Springs in 1996 she opened
Earth N Hand Pottery on the property that is now Frog Valley Artisans.
Veronica began working with stained glass in 2000. Her stained glass
portfolio includes large and small architectural installations, glass
and clay fusion and custom work in both fused and stained glass. She
is currently involved in the 1000 Points of Peace Project that benefits
the Shenandoan Women's Center and the Empty Bowls Project benefiitting
the Shenandoah Women's Center, Starting Points Soup Kitchen and the
local Boys and Girls Club.

Angela Matthews
Fused & Stained Glass Artisan
Angela
Matthews has been involved in the arts from early on including theater,
dance, set design, pen and ink, painting and sculpture. Her corporate
career utilized aspects of these arts but when her son moved from home
and urged her to do something more fun with her life she headed to Frog
Valley. She has now works in fused glass, metal sculpture and ceramic
bas relief. Angela's business career has made her a natural choice to
help Frog Valley in business growth. She is currently acting as the
Frog Valley Artisans wholesale representative and business manager.
She is Secretary Treasurer for the Berkeley Springs Studio Tour and
was recognized by Gov. Jos. Manchin for her contribution to economic
development in the arts in West Virginia.

Gordon MacLeod
Potter and Ceramic Artist
Gordon
MacLeod has been working with ceramics for more than 30 years. Gordon
took a break from professional cermaic work for 15 years while raising
his children. He joined Frog Valley in 2005 to work on new designs and
techiques in pottery. Gordon is a juried Tamarack Artisan and was on
of 30 artists featured in the Tamarack Art Gallery's juried "Best
of West Virginia" Exhibition. Gordon is a regular volunteer for
Morgan Arts Council, coordinates the summer concert series at Berkeley
Springs State Park and plays live music with local favorite Matt Hahn.

Wendy Golden
Fused & Stained Glass Apprentice
Wendy Golden
joined Frog Valley as a glass apprentice in May 2007. She has been instrumental
in the growth of the studios by working with production glass. Wendy
graduated from Berkeley Springs High School in 2006 then spent a year
studying graphic design at James Rumsey Technical Institute. Wendy is
a quick study and has now been through two prototyping processes. Wendy
Bears, her first line of work under Frog Valley, was presented in October
of 2007.
